Hidden Movie Club
Hosted by brothers from other mothers Ealan Osborne, Brad Pipkins and Derek Konofalski, Hidden Movie Club is like a book club...but for movies! This bi-weekly podcast discusses the movie that the hosts and their club members watched the previous week, either in a movie theater or in the comfort of their own homes. Movie theater attendance is very encouraged, but not mandatory, to keep the cinema experience alive!

Our first HMC Double Take episode has arrived, Cinemaniacs! Derek and I sat down and watched Cool Hand Luke, the classic 1967 film starring Paul Newman about the woes of being on a chain gang back in the day. But it's so much more than that! Derek and I picked one specific scene each to deconstruct - while keeping it a secret - only to reveal it to each other when our turn came up! Woot! Sit back and enjoy our thoughts on Cool Hand Luke!

Is Pretty in Pink still pretty after 40 years? Is the soundtrack iconic, or dated 80s nostalgia bait? We discuss this a much more in this episode of HMC: After the Credits! Sadly Brad couldn't join us due to a really bad migraine, so Derek and I take the helm (and apologies for the technical difficulties we had towards the beginning). Strap in, put those headphones on or cue it up the car or at work and let us give you our thoughts on this John Hughes classic. Woot!

Holy schnikes! In this episode, we call watched Tommy Boy and had to weigh in to see if it was all nostalgia and didn't age well, or if it really does stand the test of time. We had some good moments reminiscing on our favorite parts, favorite quotes (since this is one of the most quotable films of all time), and even got on some interesting tangents that you'll definitely want to hear! Check it out, Cinemaniacs!

Some may argue that back in 2001, Peter Jackson gave us the first installment of the last true cinema experience - The Lord of the Rings trilogy. And we saw it on the big screen for its 25th anniversary run, thanks to Fathom Events. In this era of streaming, does the trilogy hold up? How was it seeing the extended editions at the cinema, instead of just the theatrical cuts? All this and SO much more in this episode of Hidden Movie Club: After the Credits! Thanks for listening!

Just like streaming TV networks these days, there are also plenty of music streaming services to choose from. We've had experiences with a few, but not all, and we have some things to say about them! Come join the conversation live, or catch us on the flip side in audio form wherever you download your favorite podcasts! But also come for the tangents to other off-topics as per usual.

Let's face it - nostalgia is a HUGE seller these days. But are we holding onto the past thinking it really was a better time when it comes to car audio, going to the movie theater on a Friday night, or popping in that fresh new Korn album in your CD player? (heehee!) Or do we really have unprecedented times right now? Let's discuss!

Hooray! Both Brad and I have a wonderful relationship with Collin from Aperion Audio that already spans many years! Let's talk about speakers, interconnects, and anything else that comes up with one of the most laid back, badass drummers on the planet that just happens to work for a super cool company with kick ass speakers!

Kaleidescape sure did make a splash with their Strato V player, dropping the price of entry to $3,995. Still a lot of money, but do the benefits outweigh the costs? Is doing it DIY with the likes of an R-Volution or Zidoo or similar still worth it in the end? Sit back and enjoy the discussion!
